About the store
I am a middle school teacher in Canada, with over 30 years of experience. I've taught many different subjects, but found my passion in teaching Math. Many students come to me hating math and I love to tell them that by the end of the year they will love it...and many of them do! I get such a thrill when I see the light bulb go on for my students! There's no better feeling than making a difference in a child's life!

Experience

I am a middle school teacher in Canada, with over 30 years of experience. I've taught many different subjects, but found my passion in teaching Math. Many students come to me hating math and I love to tell them that by the end of the year they will love it...and many of them do! I get such a thrill when I see the light bulb go on for my students! There's no better feeling than making a difference in a child's life!

Teaching style

I love to teach conceptually. The "rules" never worked for me as a learner...I needed to understand the "why." I try to teach in a way that would have benefited me as a student. We do lots of "hands on" and try to apply what we learn to our daily lives.

My own education history

I have a Bachelor of Education from the University of Winnipeg.

Additional biographical information

I am a busy mom of 3 amazing sons and 1 fur baby! I enjoy spending time with all of them (when they'll allow it!). In my spare time I love to read murder mystery and can't resist a good Dateline! I spend my summers by the pool, either reading or floating in my pool chair (when I'm not creating new materials for my class).
