This resource includes a printable for teachers to guide students in how to identify types of story problems by color coding steps. There are four problems to use as the guided lesson; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. A second page is included with four other real word problems for students to practice independently. I found that many of my students were struggling with solving real world problems. Based on observations I found that many couldn't solve these type of problems

Using a model to multiply two fractions can be tricky! This resource provides an example problem and gives students the ability to write down steps that will help them succeed in creating their model and ultimately solve the problem. I have included color coded notes filled out the way I would guide my students in my classroom.

This is a great help for students who are not yet comfortable with solving word problems. This is something I use in my classroom to teach my students how to break down word problems and the work I expect to be shown as they solve them.
