About the store

Experience

I have seven years of experience teaching public high school English, six years of which I specialized in Exceptional Student Education. I also taught Journalism, study skills, and a specialized reading class for gifted and traditional students analyzing Florida history and environmentalism. Before that, I worked in tutoring for students from age 11 to their seventies.

Teaching style

I am a student-centered teacher who provides guidance, routine, and an open environment in which they can feel comfortable to explore and grow. My teaching focuses on critical reading, writing, and executive function skills that can work for English class and beyond.

My own education history

I received my B.S. in Secondary English Education with a minor in British and American Literature from the University of South Florida, and I received my M.A. in English Literature from Southern New Hampshire University.
