Magic in Primary

I created these so my first graders could write a neat and organized thank you letter for our Donor's Choose projects. I have put four templates in for you to choose from. There is a simple version for pre-k and kindergarten. The second version is designed for first grade+ with more writing space. I also added one without picture space for upper grades. I hope you enjoy these!

I love celebrating when my students make growth and meet their goal on the MAP test. I made half sheet certificates to hand out. I print them out on card stock and make big presentation in class. They look super cute printed in color or on color card stock. There is one for reading and one for math. My theme is Dr. Seuss so I made one set in that theme. I hope your students enjoy them as much as mine have.

This is a favorite every year! It is a great project to hang up and display. I glue both pieces onto a piece of black paper so they pop. Print out the animal page on yellow construction paper or copy paper. I have used dot stickers and bingo daubers to make the spots. Both are cute!

These activities are the perfect follow up to "Which Pet Should I Get?" Read the story aloud and help students to choose their own pet and develop up to four reasons why on the graphic organizer. Write it out on the included writing paper.

My kiddos LOVE to do these. It is so fun and engaging. I use finger flashlights from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Tzou-80-LED-Finger-Lights/dp/B008JE5KZY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1477177712&sr=8-2&keywords=finger+flashlights) $10 for 80! The powerpoint just needs a click to move through. The first slide is the sight word for them to read. The second slide has one letter appear at a time for them to spell. I use these letters to send home with student's to practice their sight words. The words are based off of the Fry's Sight Word Lists. There are ten words per page. I have included ideas for parents to practice with their child. Once the student has mastered reading the words, the parent signs it and sends it back in. Easy peasy! I've also included sheets for you to track each student.

I made this desk tag based upon my students needs every year. It is designed to print onto LEGAL sized paper: 8.5' X 14". Two name tags print on one piece of paper. Easy and fun book to make during Read Across America week. You can make the book as many pages as needed. Simply copy and cut pages in half. Read students "There's a Wocket in my Pocket." Discuss all the rhyming words. Add your own word or word family to the top stripe on the hat and let your students fill in the rest!

I use these to show my student's growth in our classroom. Each child gets their own pennant to decorate/color. I do this after the first Map test we take in the fall. You can keep them in their desks if you prefer not to hang in your room. Our school wants them up to celebrate their growth. You can punch holes on each side at the top and run yarn through it or hang them individually.

Addition Timed Tests 0-10 has two different timed tests for each addition set. Having two different versions helps prevent copying and memorization. This layout will help you save paper but isn't too small for your younger students. I give students one minute to complete each test. I love to send home positive notes each day. However, I always seem to run out of time. This upset me and my students. I made these little note to solve my problems. I print them on colored paper so they stand out and are more special. Sign your name at the bottom before you make copies! All you have to do now is write in the student's name, date and check the box! Easy peasy!

These name tags are just right for little learners. Two fit on a page so they save you ink and paper. They are a great size for the desk-big enough to read but small enough to leave plenty of work space. I laminate mine and attach with velcro.

I use this rubric to score my students Centers/Daily 5 work. It is a fast easy way to create a grade and to communicate to parents how their student is doing. I staple all the work together with this on top. It is available in English and English/Spanish.

I start out every year having student write goals for themselves. These are great to display in the classroom as a daily reminder. You can update them and have students rewrite them each quarter as well. I have also used them for NWEA MAP goals as well. Simply punch a hole in the top corners, string them together and hang up! Students write their name on the line and color it in after the goals are written in. Grades K-5 are included.

Choose either fiction or non fiction listening center response sheets to use in your classroom.

This is a great way to get the conversation started and to get to know your students better. Show one slide a day or do at once. Show a slide and if it has happened to them they stand up. Let each child share their story!
