Four day lesson for HS math students that can be taught online. The goal is to use the current pandemic situation as a hook to consider ways in which we consume statistics in the media. Students will consider: samples and sampling methods, bias, misleading graphs and statistics, causation versus correlation, and more! The final activity will require students to find statistics and graphs in the media regarding the Corona virus and consider their validity.
An entire unit on paycheck math. Used at a career center with high school students. Topics include health insurance, hourly wages, salaries, commission, and taxes. Includes 5 days of notes/assignments, a quiz review, quiz, and quiz corrections.
Guided notes and assignment for using reference angles to find exact trig values. Step by step directions and useful handout. Recommended to copy only 1-sided since they will use the first side as a reference. The second page is the assignment. This prevents lots of flipping back and forth. This was incredibly helpful to my students! Enjoy!
Students practice finding slope in partners. The activity has two columns. Problems numbered the same have the same answers so students can check their work.
