This is a chart displaying two benchmark examples for several customary AND metric units for students to become familiar with. This helps with estimating and checking answers.
Great for birthday bulletin boards and FIRST DAY activities -- I have students write their first name and last initial along with the DAY of their birthday, then color these. They trim the edges, place in the envelope labeled with their birthday month, then I hang them up within a week.
This is a fun and easy way to accustom students to reading latitude and longitude in a social studies class. The amusement park map is overlaid with a grid system and the ten questions that accompany it require students to read and use the system, as well as some practice with a map legend and compass rose. ** NOTE: This has a high resolution, formatted to print on 11"x17" paper, which is ideal, but will still print nicely on normal, letter sized paper (8.5"x11"). **
READY TO PRINTWhile doing test practice, have this ready for kids to use and fill out as you go! Can be used just for "testing words" or could also include content specific words. It's up to you! Includes a ready-to-fill booklet for students to add to as you use and notice academic words, but also includes a blank version to be able to be more flexible on page headings and numbers (in case you want to include additional or fewer pages for your students). This blank version is also linked as a G
This is a reference poster which shows the relationship between money and the metric system which are both based on 10s. Students better understand the concept of moving from one level to the next when money is used as an example, such as, "There are 100 cents in one dollar because they are two places away: so you multiply 10x10."
Booklet design for students to review some idioms and proverbs, their meanings, and their origins. They also have space to illustrate each one. Meant as an overview or exposure to some common and some not-so-common figures of speech.
Great for an end-of-year activity!
Stop and Jot category sort -- Use the first page as a reference chart/notes for their notebooks, etc. After a few days of modeling and practice, I use this as a kind of "light" assessment.

A way of visualizing when comparing and contrasting beyond a Venn diagram. A balanced scale only stays balanced if you include BOTH characteristics that are different. Anything placed in the center of the scale (similarities) does not tip the scale. :)

After learning about the three persuasion techniques of Ethos, Logos, and Pathos, this is a quick way to evaluate understanding while allowing students to be creative.
A play off of the traditional fact families with all whole numbers. I made this to practice dividing fractions, but could easily reinforce multiplying fractions as well when checking answers!
This is meant to be another piece of the process of writing (after drafting), especially but certainly not limited to, narrative writing. Students tend to rush through writing without stopping to consider their craft in terms of mechanics or diction. This forces them to reflect on their choices and use rich, existing literature as their guide.

This could act as one of many activities for rotating stations in a fourth-grade math class.
