About the store
Originally created by two high school seniors, the Make it Market has been implemented in many elementary school classrooms in the Northern Virginia area, and has impacted over 250 students and counting. All teachers and administrators love the hands-on element that the Make it Market offers, and appreciate how it allows their students to express their creativity freely while learning about the start-up process along the way.
Currently in college, the two founders at Duke University and Virginia Tech are continuing to expand the Make it Market to schools in their area and encouraging other high school students to take a lead role in bringing this event to their community.

The Make it Market project won:
1st place at the Virginia DECA State Leadership Competition in the the Financial Literacy Project category
6th place at the DECA International Career Development Conference in the Career Development Category
Additionally, the Make it Market received a sponsorship from MainStreet Bank (a community bank), and has been featured on NBC Washington News and City of Fairfax Press Releases
