About the store
At Makerpedia, we combine real classroom experience with creative educational design to support teachers and learners around the world. Our work is rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and lifelong learning—and shaped by years of hands-on experience in education, instructional design, and creative media. Today, our family is living and learning across borders. We bring together perspectives from international education, elementary classrooms, and home-based learning to create resources that are practical, engaging, and classroom-ready. About Tess I am a former school leader turned stay-at-home mom and full-time educational content creator, with a background in education, curriculum design, and media creation. I previously served as the Founding School Director of an international online school, where I led curriculum development, ed-tech integration, policy design, and school-wide systems that supported inclusive, student-centered learning. Through Makerpedia, I now focus on creating high-quality educational resources for teachers and students, blending creativity with structure. My work is heavily influenced by STEAM education, digital design, and emerging tools like generative AI—always with a focus on making learning accessible, engaging, and meaningful. In addition to educational resources, I bring experience in branding and media design, having partnered with nonprofits, startups, and mission-driven organizations to help them communicate their message clearly and creatively. Most importantly, I’m a mom of three incredible girls. Parenting shapes everything I create—I understand the realities of learning at home and in the classroom, and I design resources that support real children, real teachers, and real lives. About Pieter Pieter is an experienced elementary school teacher in the Netherlands with a professional background spanning Dutch, Aruban, and American education systems. He brings deep classroom expertise and a strong understanding of how students learn best—especially in diverse and multilingual environments. During the COVID era, Pieter successfully developed and implemented effective remote learning solutions, demonstrating adaptability, creativity, and a commitment to student engagement. He has facilitated hands-on STEM and maker-centered workshops around the world and has been recognized internationally for innovation in education. Pieter’s strengths include instructional design, project-based learning, and creating clear, engaging learning materials—from lesson plans and guides to scripts and visuals. His day-to-day work in an elementary classroom ensures that our resources remain practical, developmentally appropriate, and teacher-tested. Why We Create on TPT Everything we share is inspired by real classrooms, real students, and real families.
