Making K Fun

This is my second year teaching Kindergarten in Orlando, Florida. I have previously educated children as a preschool teacher and as a Nanny.

I believe in teaching methods that are highly engaging for all students within the classroom. I strongly believe in the benefits of teaching using Gardner's Multiples Intelligences as well as learning experiences that allow students to make understanding of the content in ways that are meaningful to them. I believe that much learning can be accomplished through play based activities and student led exploration. I have recently started integrating Project Based Learning into my Kindergarten classroom and have had amazing success with it. As a student myself, I always enjoyed reading, writing, and science and excelled at it. Initially I began college as an Exercise Science major with hopes of becoming a pediatric physical therapist. During a year off from school, I began working in a preschool classroom and fell in love with teaching young children and watching them grow. I immediately changed schools and major. I received my B.S. Ed in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania in 2009.
