About the store
In my first 2 years of teaching, I taught 5th grade self-contained in a small Catholic school in San Antonio, Texas. I spent the next 4 years at a large public school in Bentonville, Arkansas, teaching 3rd and 4th grade math and science for 2 years, 3rd grade only math and science for 1 year, and finally 3rd grade self-contained for 1 year. From there, I moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where I taught 4th grade math, reading, and writing in a public school. Now we have settled in St. Louis, MO, where I spent 1 year teaching 5th grade and will now be moving on to 2nd grade!

Experience

Teaching style

I very much believe in the power of discovery-based learning, especially in my math instruction. Through the use of carefully created word problems with intentional and specific numbers, and guided student conversations about their problem-solving methods,I have watched students of all levels make sense of math and thrive. I love making math hands-on and engaging for all students.

My own education history

I majored in psychology and minored in Education, Schooling, and Society at the University of Notre Dame. I then received a Master of Education degree also from the University of Notre Dame. I have been thoroughly trained on the use of Extending Children's Mathematics (ECM).
