Students can solve a three digit by single digit multiplication problem four different ways (place value chart, standard algorithm, area model, & partial products). Great visual for interactive notesbook or a math bulletin board.

To compare fractions, students will cut and sort if a fraction is less than 1/2, equal to 1/2, or more than 1/2. Students will then use the fraction sort to compare fractions.

Students will cut 21 different types of angles and sort them into one of three categories (acute, right, or obtuse angle). Students will use their right angle template (created during lesson 2) to determine what each angle should be classified as.

Students will use materials to each create a poster displaying the various ways of representing a given decimal.  The different forms/ways include place value discs, money, fraction, tape diagram, unit form, and area model.   An example of what the poster can look like is also shown. Directions: 8 Total puzzles are included. Cut out each expression from the rectangle.  Have students read the word problems and choose the expression that correlates with the word problem.  This activity can be done where the have to solve the word problem or just choose the expression.  This activity can be done after Module 4 Lesson 25. Cut out the task cards and display them around the room. Students can go to any task card and draw the area model on their worksheet. They will then decompose the area model based on the directions on the task card. They will then record the equivalent fraction and show the multiplication used to create the equivalent fraction sentence. This riddle goes with Grade 4, Module 5, Lesson 8.

Use this template to reinforce bundling and unbundling within our base 10 place value number system. Students will then see why the vertical form works! Use the first and second pages into dry erase sleeves or print page 3 for classwork/homework. Specifically used for Grade 5 Engage NY Module 1

Teacher Directions: 25 Measurable Caterpillars are included, data table and line plot number line, and 7 follow up questions. Print one set of caterpillars A-Y. You can print it on cardstock to reuse them from year to year.  Distribute one caterpillar for each student. Have the students measure their caterpillar to the nearest ¼ inch.  Collect the data as a class and record the data in the table.  Answer key is below.  Students will then create a line plot with the data found in the chart.

Three digit divided by single digit maze. Students color the start, solve it and then color their answer. The answer then tells them the next division problem to solve. Students continue until they get to the finish line.

Student can solve the riddle using a place value chart and/or partial products strategy. This riddle goes with Grade 4 Module 3 Lesson 7 in Engage NY/Eureka. Riddle: "Which of the Thanksgiving beverages is considered to be sad?" The answers they get will help them record the correct letter to spell out the answer.

Activity with Engage NY Grade 4 Module 6 Lesson 4: Display the 5 task cards around the room. Provide each student with page 1. Allow the students to go around the room to identify the fraction and decimal modeled in the tape diagram. The answer they get will be displayed under the riddle question. Students will record the task card letter above their answer to spell out the answer to the riddle.

Puzzle Match Up Directions: Print each puzzle and cut along the lines to create four separate pieces for each puzzle. You can laminate beforehand to reuse in the future. There are a total of 10 puzzles and 40 pieces. Students will match a picture, decimal, fraction, and unit form to create the full puzzle. This can be implemented after Grade 4 Engage NY Module 6 Lesson 1.

Engage NY activity for Grade 5 Module 4 Lesson 22. Students will cut out the expressions and sort them based on the scaled factor. If the scaled factor is less than 1 whole, it will make the product less than the whole number factor. If the scaled factor is more than 1 whole, it will make the product greater than the whole number factor. If the scaled factor is equal to 1 whole, it will make the product equal to the whole number factor.
