This project assesses students understanding of similar and congruent triangles. It's hands-on and allows for student choice. They are asked to build a bridge of their choice using popsicles sticks, color-coding similar/congruent pairs. After, they'll create a "key" with proofs for each pair.
You will become a holiday geometric detective and designer, investigating how congruent triangles and similar triangles appear in many Winter Holiday decorations, traditions, and celebrations around the world. Over the next three weeks, you'll choose a festive structure or design, analyze its geometric properties, and create both a mathematical investigation and a hands-on holiday model or presentation. Students will create a 2D or 3D winter holiday themed product that showcases their knowledge
GoogleSlides AND Canva is included! Allows students to engage in PBL regarding their areas of interest. Learning Objectives: -Explore topics of interest relating to your content classes in more depth -Utilize and expand your creativity -Collaborate with peers and experts of the topic(s) you choose. -Present your findings to peers -Reflect on your work NO PREP for the teacher (except, you should make the GoogleForm on slide 4 your own so you will get the submissions!)
This is a review game that covers Similar Triangles. There are 28 questions (+5 bonus questions) with the answers included. Each slide has a countdown timer embedded. NO PREP! This is a review game for Unit 2 (Georgia) Geometry Standards! It covers constructions, quadrilaterals, and parallel lines/transversals. There are 12 questions. The answers are provided. The original Canva link is also provided as it functions better than GoogleSlides!
Working in groups of 3-4, you will investigate Halloween traditions from around the world and create an interactive presentation to share your discoveries with the class. Essential Question: How do different cultures celebrate Halloween or similar autumn festivals, and what do these celebrations reveal about human nature and cultural values? Students will be given FOUR investigation options and FOUR creative presentation format options to allow for student choice!
This is a great project for the end of the year (or midterm season!). This is an EDITABLE CANVA for students to complete digitally-- or it can be printed for season to complete physically. This could also easily be altered to ANY subject-- just change the title on the first page! This template has all 26 letters ready and I've completed the letter A for an example! NO PREP FOR TEACHERS! Completely ready to use!
Students will practice solving one-step equations! Once they find the correct answer, they'll build a snowman with the corresponding parts! NO PREP for teachers! Just share with your students to make a copy. KEY INCLUDED! Could easily be changed to fit whatever you're teaching!
Students will design, build, and test five different paper airplane models. They will measure the distance each airplane flies, analyze the data, and graph the results to understand the effects of design on the flight performance. Students will write scientific, measurable questions and a hypothesis. Each student will be given a specific job ("Project manager", "Engineer", "Test Pilot", and "Head Data Analyst"). They'll record data, calculate speed, graph distance, graph flight time, and analyz
