This is a Google Slides presentation that includes chapter visuals from each chapter of the book, Number the Stars. Images included show the various locations the book takes place in, resistance fighters, clothing and jewelry mentioned in the book, etc. This is a great tool to support with a close reading or a read a aloud of the book. This especially assists those learners who benefit from visuals to enhance their learning

This is a Google Doc that includes the entire text from chapter 47 of the book Holes along with four short answer comprehension questions. This is a great filler activity that can be completed whole group, small group or individually. This would also make a great close read in which students could annotate for feelings, theme, questions they may have, etc. The questions are open ended so there is more than one right answer.

This includes an excerpt from Chapter One of Hatchet with "test like" questions. These include questions about determining meaning of an unknown phrase, evidence, and similarities/differences. This also includes a writing prompt that asks the student to discuss the narrator's point of view and how this affects the story. The key is included.

(We used this to have a giant class literature circle so students could jot down notes so they were more prepared for the discussion).
