This activity invites learners to consider the metric unit that would be used for certain items or experiences, create an estimate, and then go for a 'walk' to find the actual measurements. This activity is great for online education - students can work in groups to fill out the first two columns and then leave the Zoom meeting to complete the actual measurements. To finish, students can come back to Zoom and share their findings. This activity can also be used as homework or shifted/adjusted to

Teaching style

Additional biographical information

I am an international educator originally from Boise, Idaho. I've had the privilege to call Tbilisi, Georgia, Dushanbe, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Malawi, and Chile home. I currently work as the Pk-12 Inclusion Coordinator at an International School in Santiago, Chile while also partnering with school organizations on curriculum development programs and creating educational resources for educators worldwide. Outside of the education world, I love hiking, reading, and being in my kitchen exploring all things food!
