Bundle of worksheets geared toward 6th grade math - Pre-algebra - solving equations with variables on both sides Pre-algebra - solving 2-step equations Integers - 5 worksheets - adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, absolute value (combined in one file) Integer word problems - 1 worksheet - 20 problems Geometry - 7 worksheets - area and volume - circles, spheres, triangles, trapezoids & more (combined in one file) All include solutions.
Basic geometry including definitions (points, lines, planes, rays, etc.), shapes, types of angles and triangles, perimeter, area and volume including irregular shapes. Difference between 2D and 3D shapes. Slides are annotated, showing step-by-step how to solve equations. Includes a quiz at the end. 4th grade level or advanced 3rd graders. I also have a more advanced version for 5th-6th.
This material will take 5-6 days with 50-55 minute lessons per day. Recommended level is 6th-7th grade, although advanced 5th graders will typically do well. Perimeter, area and volume should be review but there is advanced material on the triangle sum theorem, finding missing angles, calculating area and volume of irregular shapes, trapezoids, circles and spheres. Also introduces pi and relationship between circumference, radius and diameter. Slides are animated, showing how problems are solved
This geometry worksheets involves classifying angles seen in shapes and everyday objects. It includes two pages of worksheet and two pages of answer key.
This 16-slide presentation covers the coordinate plane and drawing polynomials (rectangles, triangles, pentagons) based on their coordinates. It is geared toward 4th grade geometry and is at the introductory level.
I am a college professor that has taught math and financial literacy to K-12 for the last 2 years.
Teaching style
I believe it's important to get kids thinking critically about the material they're learning, or they'll never retain it. I like to ask more questions than I answer.
