The AREA MODEL!: 4 digits x 1 digit AND 2 x 2 digits
Here's part 2 of my Area Model PowerPoint. This presentation contains four digits by one digit multiplication AND two digit by two digit multiplication. The instructional slides move step-by-step for the area model method of multiplication. Additionally, there are practice problem slides. Have your students use whiteboards to solve for a quick assessment, or have them write down the answers as an exit ticket. Plus, room for BITMOJIS!

This is my 8th year teaching! Most of my years have been spent in 4th grade, and this year I'm in an instructional coach and math strategist position!
Teaching style
I like to bring my punk rock attitude to my teaching. It may sound weird, but basically it's this: I expect my students to be themselves. I expect my students to accept others, ESPECIALLY when the other is different in some way. I don't apologize for my geekiness and show them that if you're you, there's no better way to be.
