This is a useful tool for having students practice setting up and solving two-step word problems. It starts with an example that you can do together as a class, which walks the student through solving a two-step word problem. This activity aligns with common core standard 7.EE.3. Solve multi-step real-life and mathematical problems posed with positive and negative rational numbers.

This is a partner activity which covers adding and subtracting both positive and negative fractions including mixed numbers. In the activity students work with a partner to solve problems. One partner works on side A while the other works on side B. Although they are different problems their answers should be the same for each problem. When students arrive at a different answer they can work together to find which student made an error.
