This is a useful tool for having students practice setting up and solving two-step word problems. It starts with an example that you can do together as a class, which walks the student through solving a two-step word problem. This activity aligns with common core standard 7.EE.3. Solve multi-step real-life and mathematical problems posed with positive and negative rational numbers.

This is a great introduction lesson to rotations on a coordinate plane. It helps students discover the rules for a 90, 180 and 270 degree rotation. It comes with a class activity that can be completed as a group and an independent activity that can be used as classwork/homework. It aligns with common core standard 8.G.3 Describe the effect of dilations, translations, rotations, and reflections on two-dimensional figures using coordinates.

This is a partner activity which covers adding and subtracting both positive and negative fractions including mixed numbers. In the activity students work with a partner to solve problems. One partner works on side A while the other works on side B. Although they are different problems their answers should be the same for each problem. When students arrive at a different answer they can work together to find which student made an error.

I use this sheet to reinforce the rules for translating, rotating and reflecting points on a coordinate plane. It displays the rules and gives the students an opportunity to practice moving points on a coordinate plane. It aligns with Common Core Standard 8.G.3. Describe the effect of dilations, translations, rotations, and reflections on two-dimensional figures using coordinates.
