Marvelous Middle Math

This is a guided practice page intended for students to learn to be comfortable finding the y-intercept and the rate of change/slope in order to write an equation in the form y=mx+b. It gradually releases students to fill in information on their own and increases in complexity throughout.

In this two page assignment students will solve two-step inequalities, graph their solution, and determine which answer choices would be a solution to their inequality.

This product includes a notes page, a card sort, a number line coloring activity in which students color the numbers on a number line to classify what type of number they are, and an independent practice page. Pages with and without irrational numbers are included.

There are 4 stations and 5 extra practice word problems. Here is a brief description of each station. Station 1: Students read a word problem and find the matching proportion. Station 2: Students match equivalent ratios. Station 3: Students solve four problems involving conversions within a measurement system. Station 4: Students match the proportion to the word problem and match the answer to the word problem.

Students will match a graphed line to the rate of change then match the rate of change to the linear equation. Students will also identify which equation represents a proportional relationship.

Students will read word problems, identify the correct number sentence for the word problem, and match the answer to the word problem and numbers sentence. The same numbers are used repeatedly with different signs to avoid giving away answers.

Students will practice writing division expressions in different formats, choosing the division expression that does not belong, and writing division expressions in multiple formats from words.

Students will solve order of operations problems to figure out the pixel picture! Problems include grouping symbols, exponents, and all four operations. There are eight order of operations problems of varying difficulty.

This is a 2 page activity that has students solving 2 inequalities and comparing the solutions. They graph each inequality on the same number line, then they use a venn diagram to place answers with the corresponding inequality.

Students will use the y-intercept and the slope/rate of change to match a linear equation to the corresponding graph.
