State of Matter Smartboard Document Total Product contains 25 slides with a Kagan Cooperative Learning Structure. Last slide contains a comprehensive table to review material learned. Slides require students to make a determination by classifying objects as solid, liquid, or gas and their properties. Objective: The student will identify everyday objects as solid, liquid, or gas. This is the first of context clue worksheets. Total Packet: 10 Context Clue Worksheets. The first three are used for modeling while the last 7 would be good for assessment of the skill and independent work. The first three worksheets have a blank. The teacher would model how to highlight clue words and provide evidence for a written response. The last seven worksheets provide a word in which students have to use context clues to gather the meaning.

Eight of the slides require student discussion Objective: The student will observe that water changes from liquid to solid and back again as the result of temperature changes. The student will describe the changes in the physical properties of water when frozen or melted.

This product contains student objectives, list of materials needed, project specifications, and a detailed directions sheet with reflection. There are four different project specifications to choose from. One example has the kids record and build a building with two walls having an area of 12 units and the other 8. Students will work together to find common factors to make sure the walls are the same height and cut them out of cardboard. They then work together to build a fence. See the pic

This is a file of comprehension posters for students. When each skill is taught, the student glues the mini poster into their composition notebook. They can then refer to the poster as a reminder of that skill. These posters include skills such as drawing conclusions, idioms, inferences, main idea, metacognition, background knowledge, metaphors, similes, story elements, text to self, and text to text connections. These can also be blown up to use in as a poster in your room.
