This is a resource I made to assist in students understanding rotating half and quarter turns. Students have to cut out the matching shape, and through this hands-on activity, students have to rotate the shape based on the half or quarter turn instruction.

Students order objects based on their mass by hefting the objects. Gets students being hands on with hefting and using familiar objects in the classroom. The 4 boxes are to order 4 objects given by teacher. They 2 grey boxes are to add something else in classroom that is heavier/lighter than one of the 4 objects.

Students thrass out words based on their phonemes eg. CATCH C A TCH Students then draw picture to match the grapheme. C for cat A for ant TCH for watch Students may need reminding to not put individual letters in each box. It must be the phonemes. eg. TCH all go together in one box

Each player rolls the dice 3 times and creates the biggest number they can. Eg. 6 & 3 & 9 = 963. Each player writes their number on their side of the board. The person with the highest number/lowest number colours their box in. At the end, count who has the most coloured squares and that player wins!

This is a place value bingo sheet from 2 digit numbers to 7 digit. Students are given a sheet (depending on their level of understanding) and students can choose which way they wish to make the number. My students practise one activity a week, and once all activities (6) are completed, students are tested on the activities (Can they order numbers, make them using MAB, expand the number). If they can do them, they move to the next sheet. This allows students to practise different ways to make

Hands on lesson on capacity using rice, water and sand. Equipment needed- various sized objects to find capacity Students estimate how many teaspoons/cups each container would hold. Students then work out the answers.

This is an additional resource to my 'Place Value Bingo- ways to make a number' resource. This resource contains all the worksheets needed for place value bingo. Last year my students just did it in their maths books, however my cohort this year required the support of a worksheet. Each sheet has an 'I can' statement at the top to display the skill being consolidated. Skills include- -typing numbers on a calculator -drawing numbers on an abacus -numbers before and after -expanded form - MAB -

Students practice drawing hands on analogue clock and writing matching digital time. Good sheet for differentiation. Some can be practising oclock, half hour, quarter hours or to the minute.

Students can use these prompt cards when sharing their work during reflection/share time. Allows them to reflect on the skill and on their work. Very basic questions. My grade 1/2s love them and are always keen to share.

Cut out the cards and stick around the room. Each students get a worksheet and must look around room, solving simple subtraction sentences. Students write answers in the grid, in the letter boxes. Bit of fun, gets students out of their seat while consolidating subtraction strategies.

This is a display i had in my classroom with grade 1. These were common writing goals I observed within my class. These were displayed in my room with the students picture underneath. Goals include: Finger spaces Using word walls Using commas and talking marks Using capital letters Using fulllstops Writing on the lines Neat handwriting etc It was great to refer to within the classroom at a quick glance during writing sessions eg. 'Aren't you working on adding talking marks? Let's add some!"

These are some writing goals that got sent home in communication diaries for parents. These are great way to let parents know the progress of their child's writing. Make your own covered arrays (print off an array and cover with a smaller piece of paper. Students use their knowledge of skip counting, equal rows and columns, as well as multiplication to solve the arrays. Use this worksheet as support.

Students work out 1/2 or a 1/4 of a number. eg. half of 10. Students draw pictures or can use maths manipulative to solve.
