I have been a high school math teacher for 10 years. I have taught all levels of math. My goal is to try different activities in the classroom, tactile, visual, auditory, with technology and more! Many of these activities I create myself. I thought that I would start sharing them! This PIXEL MATH is a self-checking activity. Students type in answers and part of a picture shows up if they are correct (as well as the cell changing colors). This pixel math covers finding the focus, directrix, vertex, and the direction a parabola opens (parabolas open left, right, up, or down). It is 15 questions.

This is a good end of unit check point (or review). There are 20 questions dealing with finding trig ratios. All 6 trig ratios are used. Students need to use the pythagorean theorem or triples (there aren't any radicals). Some pictures are given and some they need to draw their own reference triangle. Have your students roll dice and look at the data. Discuss the theoretical probability of rolling a 1 vs experimental probability. What happens as the same size increase? Students work in groups of 2 or 3 and record their data. You can have everyone tell you their data and type it in, or you can have the students type their data into the shared google sheet. After a lot of work with my students they were still struggling to understand what find f(2) meant from a graph as well as find x if f(x)=3. It is designed to accompany ch 1 of the Stewart Pre-calc book, but can be used in a variety of ways.
