I have been assigning scientific posters in my AP Statistics class since 2006. This rubric is the result of years of revisions to the original one, research into what constitutes effective visual representations, and is the best one that I can make. It has been adopted by the science department in my school because they also find it extremely effective and efficient. You will not be disappointed.

Having first started my career as a history and English teacher, before settling on mathematics, I came to the subject with a certain viewpoint regarding how to read for meaning. However, reading literature and reading a math textbook are two very different things. I had to teach myself how to read a mathematics textbook for meaning. What I present here is what I learned, which has been extremely helpful for my students.
