6.1 DAY 2 These are day 2 notes from 6.1 One variable Inequalities with a number line graph scaffolded notes! These notes include the rule for multiplying or dividing by a negative and how the sign flips for inequalities. Students practice these problems and differentiate when to flip the sign and when to not. The key is included as a hyperlink to a pdf in the title area in red and at the bottom of the google doc.

Unit 6: Inequalities: lesson 6.2 Students will solve inequalities with variable terms on both sides of the inequality. They will need to use their prior knowledge of reverse order of operations to solve this multip step inequalities and word problems. Notes are guided and scaffolded. Math 1 Unit 1: 1.2 Algebraic expressions fillable notes with key highlighted and LINKED in red in the title. This is a google doc so you can edit it to your liking. Includes vocab and recap of 1.1. Also introduces substitution to simplify expressions. Scaffolded notes used in Math 1 HS class.

Unit 2: Polynomials 2.1 Adding and subtracting polynomials. Students define if the problem is a polynomial and what type (mono, bi, tri, none). Then they put them in standard form. Second-page students add and subtract. KEY included linked in the title page and bottom of the doc. (see 2.1 notes for more).

Unit 2. 2.6 Proportions in HS math class scaffolded fillable notes. Includes a video warm-up where students write what other fractions they saw or can think of that is equivalent. The students count different colored cards to make their ratios/fractions. Then the lesson goes into solving missing numbers by cross multiplication (butterfly method) presented in the key. Unit 2: 2.2/2.3 two lessons within one teaching day for HS students in Math 1. One step equations & Multistep equations fillable notes/ scaffolded with warm up activity of understanding inverse operations to find the unknown value (variables). Unit 7: Systems of Equations 7.3 Solve by Elimination SWBAT solves systems of equations through elimination by adding the equations to cancel out a variable and solving for one variable. Then plugging in that variable into an original equation and solve for the other variable. Then listing the solution as a coordinate point. Unit 7: Systems of Equations 7.5 Systems of Inequalities SWBAT solves systems of inequalities by graphing and shading two inequalities (linear) on the same plane. The double-shaded region is the solution area. Students need to put the linear inequalities into slope-intercept form and determine the characteristics befoe graphing. Unit 2, 2.3 Factoring quadratic equations, factoring trinomials using the asterisk method or snowflake method in scaffolded fillable note style. This is the last lesson before we get into quadratic functions, standard form, and the introduction to quadratics (see 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5). Students factor standard form equations with a value of 1 and larger than 1 using the asterisk method. Google doc is editable. KEY INCLUDED in title and bottom of the doc page. Used in Math 2 HS class.

Unit 2: 2.1 Adding and Subtracting Polynomials fillable notes / scaffolded notes / graphic organizer. Students learn the vocab of polynomials and what is not a polynomial. Then how to combine like terms and rearrange the polynomial in standard form by order of degree. They also find the degree of a term and the degree of a polynomial. This google doc is editable and KEY INCLUDED in title and bottom of the doc. Used in HS math 2 class.
