This lesson, which includes a Do Now, Notes and a Problem Set is for adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers. I've used it at the beginning of 7th grade as review and refresher before we delved into operations with negative numbers.

These quizzes are presented in a simple algebraic format, working on multiplication facts using timed quizzes looking for products, factors and quotients. This is a basic 12 by 12 multiplication table for students to complete by hand. It can be used to look at and identify various multiplicative relationships such as perfect squares, factors and multiples. I included a question about perfect squares, but students could be asked where they could easily find the multiples of six or four or five, and then to explain why these multiples appear at other places on the times table as well.

This is a fun variation on the typical 12 by 12 multiplication table. The values along the sides of the table are jumbled, and so a skip counting/additive strategy is less useful. After completion, there are still some relationships that can be identified.
