TEKS 6.8B Discovering the Formulas for Areas of Basic Shapes
This is a lesson plan for teaching students how to find area of rectangles, triangles, parallelograms, and trapezoids. It is a great way to show them exactly WHY the formula is what it is, which helps them understand how it works and how to apply it. Included are step by step instructions on how to complete the activity as well as talking points to help guide students to understanding how to create the formulas.
