This fun activity requires students to practice NEATLY graphing lines in slope-intercept form (y = mx+b). Students will graph 12 lines, and should have an understanding of using the slope and y-intercepts to graph. After students graph each linear function, they write the letter of the function next to the monster that it went through. The perfect activity for Halloween, but is honestly a fun activity year-round! Visit the Math Cat Store to find more activities that are engaging for students an
This fun activity requires students to practice NEATLY graphing quadratic functions. Students will graph 8 parabolas, and should have an understanding of various transformations: horizontal and vertical translations, vertical reflections, and vertical stretches. All graphs have at least 2 transformations. As students graph each parabola, they write the letter of the function next to the monster that it went through. Perfect as a Halloween activity! This fun activity requires students to NEATLY graph absolute value functions (10 total graphs). There are 2 versions of the worksheet included: one with absolute value functions already in vertex form, and one with expanded/more difficult absolute value graphs that students must factor/simplify themselves. Perfect as a differentiated instruction worksheet, I will sometimes offer a point or two of extra credit for students who want the challenge of the harder worksheet. As students graph each abs
This fun activity requires students to practice NEATLY graphing lines in standard form (Ax+By=C). Students will graph 12 lines, and can either graph by first re-writing in slope-intercept form, or by using the intercepts (all intercepts are integers). After students graph each linear function, they write the letter of the function next to the monster that it went through. The perfect activity for Halloween, but is honestly a fun activity year-round! Visit the Math Cat Store to find more activit
This fun activity requires students to practice NEATLY graphing quadratic functions. Students will graph 8 parabolas, and should understand how to find the vertex either by completing the square or using x = -B/2A. All graphs have at least 2 transformations. As students graph each parabola, they write the letter of the function next to the monster that it went through. A great activity for Halloween! This fun winter-themed activity requires students to practice NEATLY graphing linear functions in slope-intercept form (y = mx+b). Students will graph 8 lines, and should have an understanding of using the slope and y-intercepts to graph. After students graph each linear function, they write the letter of the function next to the penguin that it went through. This is a fitting activity for winter months, such as December, January, or February, but is also fun to use at any time of the year! Vis
This fun activity requires students to NEATLY graph square root functions. There are 2 versions included: in Version A, students will graph 10 functions with horizontal and vertical translations and reflections, as well as vertical stretches. In Version B, students will graph 12 functions with horizontal and vertical translations, reflections, and stretches (both vertical and horizontal). You can use these worksheets twice for every student, or differentiate by giving Version B to students who n

This worksheet of 12 linear equations requires students to graph lines in slope-intercept form. When each function is graphed, students find the letter the graph passes through to fill in the riddle’s answer. This is a fun review activity that can be used at any time, but especially in the winter, such as December, January, or February. This activity is appropriate for Algebra students, and a full answer key is included. Visit the Math Cat Store to find more activities that are engaging for stu
This activity requires students to NEATLY graph quadratic functions in standard form. Students will graph 8 parabolas, and should be able to find the vertex by completing the square or using x = -B/2A. All graphs have at least 2 transformations. After students graph each parabola, they write the letter of the equation next to the penguin that it went through. This is a fitting activity for winter months, such as December, January, or February, but is also fun to use at any time of the year! Vis
A great activity for around Christmas and the Holidays! This activity reviews students’ knowledge of the six trig functions (sine, cosine, tangent, cosecant, secant, cotangent) around the unit circle in radians, but also allows students to let loose their inner child with some coloring! I always encourage students to try to evaluate without having a unit circle in front of them or even without re-creating a unit circle, but by using reference angles and quadrants. There are 20 problems total.
A great activity for around Christmas and the Holiday Season! This activity allows students to practice their graphing skills, but also let loose their inner child with some coloring! Each equation has a given color, so students graph each line and find the two letters the graph passes through. Once students have finished finding which letters correspond with the colors, they fill in the ugly sweaters accordingly. Then, they can be creative and decorate the blank details in their own way. If the
This fun activity requires students to NEATLY graph cubic and cubed root graphs (8 total graphs). There are graphs with vertical and horizontal translations, as well as vertical and horizontal stretches and reflections. As students complete each graph, they write the letter of the function next to the monster that it went through. Students need to know the 3 Pythagorean identities, quotient identities, and reciprocal identities. Students may need to distribute (FOIL), simplify complex fractions, and multiply by conjugate expressions to create difference of squares. There are a total of 12 trig expressions to simplify. An answer key with worked-out solutions is included. For this activity, I cut up the half sheets and post them randomly around my room, allowing students to walk around and work in groups. I give students
This fun activity requires students to practice NEATLY graphing trig functions. Students will graph 6 trig functions (5 sine/cosine and 1 tangent). Students should have an understanding of various transformations: horizontal and vertical translations, vertical reflections, and horizontal and vertical stretches/compressions. Each graph has no more than 3 combined transformations. After students graph each trig function, they write the letter of the function next to the monsters that it went thro
This fun activity requires students to NEATLY graph 9 lines in the form y = m(x-x1 )+y1 . As students complete each graph, they write the letter of the function next to the monster that it went through. The perfect activity for Halloween, but is honestly a fun activity year-round! This worksheet of 12 functions require students to graph parabolas in standard form. Each quadratic equation has integer vertices, so they can complete the square to find the vertex, or use the x=-B/2A method. When each function is graphed, students find the letter the graph passes through to fill in the riddle’s answer. This is a fun review activity that can be used at any time, but especially in the winter, such as December, January, or February. This activity is appropriate for Algebra or Al
This is a pretty basic scaffolded worksheet, students begin by listing the slope and y-intercept and fill in the blanks to write the equation, but gradually must use their own points to find slope and write the equation themselves. The last half of the worksheet is matching graphs to equations. Don’t forget to leave feedback! I read every comment and greatly appreciate it.
