About the store

Experience

I have over 15 years of experience teaching elementary and middle school mathematics in a variety of settings, including public, independent, urban, and suburban. In addition, I have co-designed and co-facilitated workshop sessions at local and national conferences.

Teaching style

I believe that when students become active doers rather than passive consumers the greatest learning gains can be realized. I work with teachers, administrators, and even parents to grow their ability to put education into the hands of the learners in order to foster deep understanding and critical-thinking skills.

Awards & shining teacher moments

My shining moment for the first quarter of 2020 was when a group of 8th graders clapped at the end of a demo lesson.

My own education history

Additional biographical information

I am ready to support teachers and leaders as they negotiate the transition to distance and online learning. I have experience with distance learning from both the learner and the facilitator perspectives. Since earning my Master of Science degree entirely online, I have designed and facilitated online learning—both synchronous and asynchronous—for a range of learners from elementary students to experienced educators.
