About the store
Welcome to my store! If you're looking for high school math activities that combine meaningful practice with collaborative learning, you're in the right place. From scavenger hunts to pairs checks, my resources are designed to help students review key concepts while working together—and maybe even having a little fun along the way! My journey as an educator began at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where I gained hands-on experience through Cal Teach internships in both middle and high school classrooms in Santa Cruz. I completed my student teaching in the Pajaro Valley Unified School District in Watsonville, where I discovered my passion for creating interactive lessons that help students truly connect with math. Since then, I’ve spent the past nine years teaching in the Bay Area, specializing in Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2/Trigonometry—my absolute favorites! Along the way, I’ve also taught Geometry and Precalculus, giving me a broad perspective on how math concepts build on one another. The resources in my store are a reflection of my classroom experience and my belief that math can be accessible, collaborative, and even enjoyable for all learners. Thank you for stopping by, and I hope my materials help support you and your students!

Experience

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope my materials help support you and your students!

Teaching style

In my classroom, I strive to strike the perfect balance between structure and collaboration using the "I do, we do, you do" teaching approach. I start each lesson by modeling how to solve problems, walking students through my thought process step by step, and encouraging them to share their ideas and ask questions. Together, we build a solid foundation before students dive into practice. But I know that sitting still for an hour and forty minutes just isn’t realistic! That’s why I incorporate a variety of interactive activities to keep my students engaged and motivated. From scavenger hunts and Jeopardy-style games to partner checks and small-group work, these activities let students explore new concepts with a partner or team, helping them apply what they’ve learned in a dynamic and supportive way. Once they’ve had time to collaborate, students work independently to solidify their understanding, knowing I’m always there to guide them through any tricky spots. This mix of direct instruction, teamwork, and individual practice not only keeps my long class periods manageable but also helps my students develop the confidence and skills they need to tackle math head-on.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Some of my most rewarding teaching moments come when students tell me that my classroom environment and teaching style helped them feel less anxious about math—a subject that can often be intimidating. Hearing them say they’ve gained confidence in their abilities and feel like they can succeed in math is the ultimate compliment. These moments remind me why I love what I do and fuel my passion for creating resources that support students in building both their skills and their confidence.

My own education history

I’m proud to be a Bay Area native, where I grew up and attended school before heading to the University of California, Santa Cruz. At UCSC, I earned my B.A. in Mathematics and a single subject teaching credential in math, combining my love for the subject with my passion for teaching. My time at UCSC not only deepened my understanding of mathematics but also prepared me to share that knowledge in ways that make math accessible and meaningful for my students.

Additional biographical information

When I’m not teaching, planning lessons, or grading papers, you’ll often find me spending quality time outdoors with my energetic two-year-old son. Whether we’re exploring local parks or just enjoying the fresh air, these moments are a refreshing balance to my busy teaching life and a reminder of the joy and curiosity I aim to bring into my classroom every day.
