I am in my 11th year of teaching in New Braunfels, Texas. I started teaching middle school math when I graduated from University of Arizona. I stayed home with my children for 5 years, and then returned to teaching in 5th grade math at the elementary level. I recently moved up to 8th grade where I am teaching Algebra 1 and on level mathematics at Danville Middle School.

Digital Jeopardy 5th Grade STAAR Math Review
This is a fantastic Jeopardy Game to review before the standardized test. It is aligned with the 5th grade Texas curriculum to prepare my students for the STAAR, but could be used in any state! Probability and Predicting Hands-On Lesson
I created this lesson to help kids learn probability and predictions. It is used with dice and colored tiles. It walks the kids through the process of Probability and Predictions using their hands with a partner! My kids really enjoyed this center!

Teaching style
I like to teach in the zone, I love to get kids moving around learning,. and I love group work! Centers are really awesome in the lower levels of mathematics, which a lot of my 5th grade math stuff is based on centers.
