I am in my 11th year of teaching in New Braunfels, Texas. I started teaching middle school math when I graduated from University of Arizona. I stayed home with my children for 5 years, and then returned to teaching in 5th grade math at the elementary level. I recently moved up to 8th grade where I am teaching Algebra 1 and on level mathematics at Danville Middle School.

I have created a task card scavenger hunt for Algebra 1 with Operations of polynomials including adding, subtracting, multiplying, factoring, difference of squares, and factoring out GCF. Students start at one task cards, find the answer to that task card, and search for the answer on another task card! Great way to self check, while moving around and reviewing! Answer key included!
16 Task Cards reviewing Classifying Real Numbers in sets and subsets, Comparing and ordering real numbers, estimating square roots, and scientific notation. This is a great way to get 8th grade math students up and moving while reviewing these concepts! Students will start at a task card, record their answer on their recording sheet, and then fins the next task card that has their answer on it. Once they fin the answer they start solving that task card. It takes them in a loop reviewing all
16 task cards covering representing and solving quotients of decimals to the hundredths place with an answer key and a student answer document. This is aligned to the TEKS 5.3G and 5.3F with both computation and application through word problems. Great to use as a center or at your small group table to review this concept.
24 task cards for STAAR test prep, that are focused on the NEW Texas TEKS in 5th grade math. These are pulled from the previous STAAR tests, and tweaked a little bit to make sure our students are READY for the STAAR. Great center activity, great for small group, and great review! I have included all the readiness standards with supporting standards embedded within the readiness standards. This is identical to the Jeopardy Review that I am selling! This would also be good for SSI once the tes
These are great entrance and exit tickets, or review flash cards for 8th grade math STAAR Review. I took a lot of the stimuli from the prior STAAR tests and put them together to help students pass the test! There are 32 flash cards covering positive and negative slope, functions, positive and negative associations, y-intercept, slope, angle measurements, unit rate, proportional and non proportional relationships, solutions to 2 equations, and all the algebraic rules. Quick and easy way to rev
Solving one step equations and inequalities Card Sort! This activity includes 13 sets of equations and inequalities, verbal real-word problems, models, and solutions. Students will put cards together in sets of 3 that match either a verbal real world problem, an algebraic expression or equation, solutions, and model on a number line or strip diagram. Teaching style
I like to teach in the zone, I love to get kids moving around learning,. and I love group work! Centers are really awesome in the lower levels of mathematics, which a lot of my 5th grade math stuff is based on centers.
