Powers & Exponents: Student Notes and Independent Practice

This product is a great way to have students take notes on powers and exponents without worrying about the amount of time spent on note taking. The "student notes" page allows students to fill in blanks using vocabulary from the lesson and also work examples. This page would also be great as a quiz to check understanding. The "independent practice" page gives students the chance to show what they have learned from the lesson. Also included are 2 templates that can be used in interactive notebook

About the store

Experience

I have had the opportunity to teach kindergarten, 3rd grade, 5th grade science/ss/math, and 6th grade math. I am currently teaching 6th grade math...my favorite experience so far!

Teaching style

I am a visual learner and that is the way I teach my students. I use the Promethean board on a daily basis. I love to incorporate music, comics, and videos to help my students grasp the concept being taught. I am also a firm believer in drill and practice to help concepts "stick" with my students. I try to add a bit of humor (sometimes corny) to help get the point across.

Awards & shining teacher moments

My own education history

I have a Bachelor's degree in elementary education with a minor in secondary social studies. I am also certified in early childhood and ESL (in Texas). I received my Master's degree in Library Science in the fall of 2007.
