Concepts include: mean, median, mode, range, identifying an outlier in a set of data, finding the difference between two groups (such as the difference between the mean and the median). Many of the items require multiple steps to solve the problems. This is appropriate for 6th graders but could also be used in 5th grade. Experience

I have had the opportunity to teach kindergarten, 3rd grade, 5th grade science/ss/math, and 6th grade math. I am currently teaching 6th grade math...my favorite experience so far!

Teaching style

I am a visual learner and that is the way I teach my students. I use the Promethean board on a daily basis. I love to incorporate music, comics, and videos to help my students grasp the concept being taught. I am also a firm believer in drill and practice to help concepts "stick" with my students. I try to add a bit of humor (sometimes corny) to help get the point across.

My own education history

I have a Bachelor's degree in elementary education with a minor in secondary social studies. I am also certified in early childhood and ESL (in Texas). I received my Master's degree in Library Science in the fall of 2007.
