This is an alternate approach to teaching integers and combining like terms through the use of manipulatives, number lines, and real world translations. It can be used as an intervention program for students who need a different foundation laid upon which to build their understanding of integers and combining like terms.

I like to think outside of the box and try to teach concepts in ways that make it easier for students to grasp the information. I believe in varying the way a lesson is delivered throughout a unit, different learning modalities, different activities, and through different mediums.
