These extended response problems revolve around key basics of prealgebra including fraction operations, variable expressions, exponents and order of operations. Depending on how you use this in class, it could take anywhere from 20 minutes to 60 minutes to complete this paper. This would be at least a 40 minute lesson for me.
This is a practice page for solving equations in one variable. The problems gradually get harder to help with differentiation. Students are required to write out their steps and explain what inverse operation they used in order to get that step. They are also required to check their answers.
This document has "traffic lights" that turn different colors based on data that 8th grade students enter. This is a nice extended response assessment related to functions, graphing lines, and finding solutions. It addresses slope as a unit rate, and also encourages students to compare two functions that are shown differently (one as a graph and another as an equation).
*answer key is on the last page and only for the final question. Many of the questions will have different responses.
After a lot of research, I created this document to help my team come up with a plan for students with ADHD. Then unfortunately it was never used. I hope that it helps you! There may be some small imaging issues as it was transferred from word to docs so I decided to offer it for free. The research was based on ADHD, but it could work for any type of behavior situation.
This is a simple document that teachers can use for team conferences. It is a beneficial document used so that teachers are all on the same page prior to the conference.
