Students will: * Practice finding the Greatest Common Factor (GCF) using the thin slicing strategy, which builds the skill with scaffolds * Develop skills with GCF in a gradual, scaffolded and differentiated way Thin slicing GCF activity! Students work to find the Greatest Common Factor of 2 or 3 numbers in this thin slicing activity. Problems grow with difficulty from #1 to #30. Students begin with problem #1 and check their answer. Students will: * Challenge themselves by creating numbers with specific place value instructions * Understand expanded form, word form and standard form * Explore the purposes of place value and the value of zero in place value Challenge your students with this "Create your own" activity. Students follow specific directions to write a number given clues as to the digits in the place values. A great way to assess understanding. No prep, just print.
