Converting Mixed Numbers Anchor Chart

My students love to use this anchor chart when they are first learning how to quickly convert mixed numbers and improper fractions. First I have students try to guess what words might go in the blanks. Then we complete the notes together, using different colors to keep track of the different parts of the fraction. Once they are completed, I have students keep this sheet in a sheet protector in their binder. I often see student's going back to it as they complete practice problems.

Extra Change is a game played similarly to Uno that helps reinforce decimal addition. The big difference in this version of the game is that students may add up multiple cards to match the value of the card at the top of the discard pile. Cards can be printed on cardstock or laminated before being printed and cut out. This game is great for math centers. Tip: Many students will automatically try to match the color rather than the amount on the card, but you could discard more cards at a time by
