Students can refer to these notes when multiplying and dividing. We glue these notes into the back of our journals for quick reference. My students truly benefit from having their multiples of 10, 100, and 1,000 visible when multiplying and dividing using area models. This is a great way to support students, build confidence, and promote independent thinking.

This activity helps students see the representation of a number’s value. For fun, have students roll a dice to create their own number.
For students that need extra support, use the version with the place value disks provided. Students can use colored dry erase markers to circle the number of disks used for each place value.
When students are ready, have them draw their own place value disks.
