I LOVE teaching Algebra! I started out as a Test-Tutor while still substituting and fell in love. I then taught Algebra at a Boarding School for students with emotional disturbances. Next, I taught in a Public School 9th grade setting with inclusion. Currently, I teach 4th grade elementary and Special Education.

Coordinate Geometry Ordered Pair Diamond Design Activity
Let student practice ordered pairs with a design that is used in much of their logos and clothing - a diamond. My students loved making these. They had fun coloring them afterwards and it made great art to display in the classroom. Enjoy!

Congruency Story Activity Cinderella Circle
Cinderella Circle loses her shoe and the Prince searches for it using his knowledge of congruency in this interactive, rhyming story in Powerpoint format. Lot of glitter backgrounds to make it appealing to young kids. Great as an introduction to shapes/basic geometric features etc.

Teaching style
Differentiating instruction is a MUST in my classroom since I have students of all different ability levels. I am big on keeping Algebra FUN! A little creativity can help students LOVE math and feel successful. My teaching style is very hands on. I try to make lessons cross-curricular when appropriate.

I have my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education. I am certified in Early Childhood Education N-3, Elementary Education K-6, Special Education N-21, and Mid-Level Mathematics 6-9. I am continuing my education for my Masters in Environmental Education.
