I've been an educator for 20 years! I taught math every grade from 2nd-8th for 14 years before coaching teachers and being an administrator. What makes me a great math teacher isn't just the content knowledge, it's breaking down abstract in an enjoyable way.

Great lesson and activity for a Place Value Unit! Everything a teacher or parent needs for this skill. In this lesson, Math Marvels will use multiple skills from expressing a number in standard and word form to write a check! They will also learn how and why checks are used. This lesson includes a complete video lesson with hook, mini-lesson, and common misconception. Also included in this lesson is a pdf with guided notes and 10 independent practice problems that align to the lesson.

Teaching style

In my classroom I'm more progressive in my approach. I love rich problems. There are multiple ways to represent a problem and multiple solutions. In video I do think being explicit and direct is more helpful for students so I also have workshop model lessons.
