Students choose a topic taught this year. They create a comic strip based on that topic explaining it to the class. Student have to create a script for their comic strip and once approved, they can log onto www.toondoo.com and create their comic strip. They love it because they can use their creativity.
Equations Hot Seat: I play this as a game after the lesson on solving equations with rational numbers. I line the student desks up in 5 groups in a single file line. I put the first problem up on the Smartboard and every student must work out the problem. Once the back student finds the answer, they pass their answer up to the person in front of them. Playing cornhole is a great way to introduce Adding Integers! This Powerpoint lets students review the rules of corn hole then apply them to adding integers. Students will discover the zero pair and the rules of adding integers! Students then will have the opportunity to play corn hole for real! You can do it outside or print off the last slide and let students do it at their desks with the red and yellow integer chips!
In 7th grade students are expected to be able to find the Area of a circle with a given Circumference and vice versa. This Powerpoint takes students through how to find the Area given the Circumference and how to find the Circumference given the Area. It includes a real world application problem as well as a performance task at the end.
