Two Step Equations and Distributing Quiz that tests the basics of moving terms around in order to solve for 'x'. Created as a review at the beginning of Pre-Algebra.
I created this when my students were struggling with simply balancing equations. They know how to solve simpler problems but couldn't balance them when they were in a mixed form. I listed the questions they needed to understand first, then gave the practice (meant to be practiced in small groups).
A basic outline for students to investigate root functions prior to a lesson about squared and cubed roots.
Also a great way for students to get used to the Cornell Notes style.
6 practice problems for solving systems of equations, set up for simple substitution. Simplifying prior to substitution is necessary in some.

Teaching style
Many of us have a variety of styles. I encourage students to explore with some rigor before it is all explained. I have found it creates an interest prior to the formal lesson on a new subject.
