Math Obsession

This activity can be used for applying the law of cosines in a real world situation. Students navigate Google Earth to find distances. This activity correlates to the 2025 SC Applications and Modeling standards.

This application project has students using their knowledge of nonlinear inequalities to answer questions about earning a profit. They are able to create their own business, decide what they want to sell, and use that information to create a presentation that demonstrates their understanding of inequalities. It's a fun activity that gets the kids talking and thinking about real world applications.
