About the store

Experience

I have been teaching 4th and 5th grade since 2002 in low-income neighborhoods with large populations of English Language Learners. I have also participated in groups of teachers within my district to deepen my math understanding and pass it along to other teachers.

Teaching style

I teach math in a constructivist manner. I engage students in problems that are designed to have them use what they already know to solve new types of problems. In this manner, math is demystified and students gain the confidence that math is something for the average person and not just for the experts.
