About the store
I taught my first algebra class in the 1980’s. Now, for the past 12 years, I have been working as a full time private math tutor. I am blessed to teach a wide variety of grade levels everyday and have found this to be an invaluable experience. I understand what works and doesn’t work from level to level. I love to make my students laugh. I implement imaginative and sometimes silly demonstrations to make math "stick". The more fun we have, the more we all learn. My ultimate goal with students is to have them appreciate, learn, and enjoy math.

Experience

I taught my first algebra class in the 1980’s. Now, for the past 12 years, I have been working as a full time private math tutor. I am blessed to teach a wide variety of grade levels everyday and have found this to be an invaluable experience. I understand what works and doesn’t work from level to level. I love to make my students laugh. I implement imaginative and sometimes silly demonstrations to make math "stick". The more fun we have, the more we all learn. My ultimate goal with students is to have them appreciate, learn, and enjoy math.

Teaching style

First and foremost, I want to instill a love and understanding of mathematics in my students. I have a passion for math that I hope my students will share with me. I incorporate manipulatives, 3d models, acronyms, songs, and anecdotes to make learning memorable and meaningful. I have spent hundreds of hours creating math resources to use with my students and now I am sharing them with TpT.

My own education history

I have a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Northern Illinois University.
