Experience

I am entering my seventh year of teaching, and my sixth at my Alma Mater. I currently teach Geometry, Algebra II, Business Math, and College Algebra. I have also previously taught Math 7, Math 8, and Algebra I. I also serve as the Galena High School Student Council Advisor and teach an associated STUCO Leadership Academy. In addition to my teaching duties I serve as Head Scholar Bowl Coach and Assistant Coach for both the GHS Cross County and Track & Field programs.

Teaching style

In mathematics I take a blend of traditional and modern strategies. I firmly believe in the statement, "The only way to learn math is to do math." I work every day to keep the math engaging to students through well designed lessons, games, and activities.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have been awarded the GHS Teacher of the Month in December 2018 and names Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Month for September 2020.
