Trig Ratios and Finding Missing Side Lengths Speed Dating

Change up the practice in your classroom with speed dating! I normally do this activity in the spirit of Valentine's day but it can be done at any point in the year. Students will each have a "master card" that they are responsible for being able to solve and explain to their peers. Each student will sit across from another and will trade cards, solve, and then switch back when they are finished. Students ask one another for help before asking the teacher, encouraging math talk. Students rotate

My own education history

I graduated with my B.S. from the University of Kentucky (go cats!) in 2019 and am currently working on getting my Master in Education from Miami University.

Additional biographical information

I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. I was in Lexington for four years while attending the University of Kentucky for undergrad and moved back to the Cincinnati area to teach. Working in education is my calling. There is little I love more than when you see the light bulb go off with students! I hope my resources can help you provide those moments for your students too.
