Experience

Math Department Chair, 5th, 6th, and 7th grade math teacher, 5-8 SETSS instructor (specifically designed supplemental math instruction).

Teaching style

My love of math is contagious in my classroom. I truly enjoy continuously learning new ways to further my own and my students' conceptual understanding of math as it pertains to Common Core State Standards and real-life applications. When you deeply understand math you see the true beauty of the content. I believe in using every minute of class in a purposeful way. My lessons are chock-full of spiraled review, fluency drills, application problems, opportunities for discovery and partner work, differentiated practice, and exit tickets to allow for daily data collection that informs future lessons. As the Math Department Chair of my school, I enjoy working with the very talented members of my Math Team as we continue to grow together as educators, build a rigorous and vertically aligned math curriculum, and experiment with a variety of instructional practices so that we can best serve all of our learners.
