About the store
Hello and welcome to my page! I have been teaching 5th grade for eight years. I taught six years of 5th grade teaching all subjects in an elementary school, but now I teach 5th grade math in a middle school. I am super passionate about creating ways to make 5th grade content easier for students, while still keeping the standards high. That's why I started creating templates for my students to use and follow along with for each standard. I noticed that with the graphic organizers, all of my students were successful working independently, even my students that were at a 2nd grade level or below. I hope these templates are able to help you feel this same success!

Multiplication Using Area Model Graphic Organizers
This product includes two graphic organizers to aid in teaching multiplication of 2 digit and 3 digit numbers using area model. I put these in pocket charts and students use a dry erase marker to solve problems. Skills: 2 digit x 2 digit, 3 digit x 2 digit and 3 digit x 3 digit

I love to teach multiplying with decimals using an area model before moving into using standard algorithm. The organizers help students grasp the concept of multiplying to get partial products and the labels really assist students organize their work when setting up the problems.

Finding Volume of Composite Figures Work Mat
This work mat help students organize their thinking when finding volume of composite figures. I print them and place them in clear pocket protectors for students to use individually. It really helps students feel successful when practicing this skill.

Customary Conversion Charts
These customary conversion charts are great for converting the following units of measure: length, weight, volume and time. My students love to use these every year. We place our finger on the chart and move either up or down. If we move up, we multiply and if we move down, we divide. It seems to be helpful for students to physically move their finger up/down on the chart.

Metric Conversions Chart
This graphic organizer has been a game changer when it comes to teaching metric conversions! I have students use colored pencils or markers to complete the chart with measurements (red for capacity, blue for length, and green for weight.) Then, students use an object (eraser, pompom, decimal cutout) to physically move the decimal from one measurement to the other. I explain how to do this in the video preview. My students have so much fun with metric conversions every year, which is saying a lot

I use this work mat to introduce factors and multiples before moving into comparing fractions/adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. I print the organizer and put it in pocket charts for students to fill out using dry erase markers.

I use these graphic organizers when first introducing decimals. I make a double sided copy for each student and we place them in pocket charts. Students can use these scaffolded organizers when they work on their independent work and they love them!
