Building that concrete understanding sets the foundation for the algorithm that can be discovered by completing this lesson! This product shows students that all decimals are tenths, hundredths, and thousandths and that a fraction with a denominator of 10 or 100 could easily be converted to a decimal. This lesson seeks to rid the misconception of a, for example, a fraction of 3/5 being 3.5 as a decimal by knowing the only way you can use the same numbers from the fraction for the decimal is if the part is over 10 or 100.
